Make sure you listen to the speeches of other delegates, that way you can respond to them in your own. Use it to formulate your own argument or refute another. But in order to be effective, you must command the room. Be loud and lively and your ideas will reach your audience!

Knowing your facts shows people your confidence and preparation and therefore they are more inclined to listen. Bring maps or visuals to capture the attention of your audience. Working hard before committee sure pays off when other delegates flock to you.

Square your shoulders and walk with pride, because your attitude is contagious. Others will be drawn to you if you seem to know what you're doing (even if sometimes you don't), and there lies the key to success in any committee. Some may even say, fake it till you make it!

Play up your pros; be friendly, be strong, and be creative. Remember you have three ways to prove your worth: note passing, speaking in front of the delegation, and one on one conversations during unmoderated caucuses. Showcase yourself as best as you can in all aspects.

You do your best when you look your best! Dress professionally and appropriately to portray yourself with ease and poise, and people will be attracted for all the right reasons. And of course, make sure to get a good nights rest.
